Meet Geraldine - Owner & Guide

Originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Geraldine came to Oaxaca to pursue a career in Art Restoration, a field she has been dedicated to for the past 10 years. Her work took on even greater significance in 2017 when she helped assess damages caused by the earthquake that struck southern Mexico.

Through her restoration work, Geraldine had the opportunity to visit countless communities across Oaxaca, deepening her understanding of the region’s rich culture—especially its diverse and vibrant cuisine.

Coming from a traditional Mexican family, she believes that food is the most powerful way to connect with others. Like in many Mexican households, emotions weren’t always spoken—but food was its own language. In an effort to get closer to her father, who “doesn’t speak feelings but does speak food,” she began asking questions and learning about Oaxacan cuisine. This journey eventually led her to create Gordeando: Tours for Fat Souls!

At Gordeando, we want you to feel like you’re hanging out with a friend. So, ask away—we’re here to share, chat, and make sure you have an unforgettable experience!
